CESH 2015 “Junior Scholar Awards”
It is our pleasure to announce that the Organizing Committee of the 2015 CESH International Congress has made available funds to provide three Scholarships of Euro 250 each to be assigned for outstanding Papers given by young scholars participating to the Congress.
• The “Junior Scholars Awards” will be titled James Riordan. Writer and author of successful books and novels, Historian, CESH President from 2003 to 2005, President of the CESH Fellows from 2007 to 2009
• Applications can be submitted by young scholars 35 years old and under according to the following criteria (see www.cesh-site.eu/?page_id=232)
• Candidates presenting their research papers to the Congress should fill the following application form (download here)
• Research Papers should be no longer than 8.000 words and they must be prepared as indicated on the website www.cesh2015florence.it (“Final Proceedings”)
• A Junior Scholar Selection Committee will be established according to the CESH’s Statute and Regulations
• Junior Scholars applicants’ presentations will be scheduled on the first two days of the Congress (22 and 23 October 2015)
• Members of the Junior Scholar Selection Committee will evaluate individually the applicant’s papers before the Congress. The same Committee will have a plenary session meeting the morning of October 24, 2015 to decide the final merit list
• The outstanding papers which will receive the Award will be invited to be published in the ESSH Journal after having been reviewed by the Scientific Committee of the Journal
• The Award will take place during the Congress Closing Ceremony

 

CESH 2015 “Students’ Seminar”
It is our pleasure to announce that the Organizing Committee of the 2015 CESH International Congress has planned a “Student Seminar” which will be held on October 22, 2015 specifically designed for students regularly registered for the Congress as indicated in the website www.cesh2015florence.it (“Registration”)

The Draft Program of the Student Seminar is as follows:

17.30 – “Research methodology in the History of Sport”
18.15 – Discussion
18.30 – “Writing and Presenting scientific articles”
19.15 – Discussion
20.00 – Bus to ASSI Giglio Rosso
20.30 – “Student Pizza”

* The Student Seminar will be held at the Congress Venue, Istituto Geografico Militare, Via Cesare Battisti 10/12, Florence. A shuttle bus service will be arranged to take students from the Congress venue to the ASSI Giglio Rosso for the “Student Pizza” and then to the hotels.
